Leadership development
Blended learning
The brief
The client runs a graduate leadership programme. They faced a challenge with their existing approach: leadership and communication theories were introduced during an intensive, instructor-led training day. This often left learners with little time and space to understand and reflect upon the theories.
The solution
I introduced a blended learning approach that shifted leadership theory content to a pre-workshop stage. Participants completed a comprehensive leadership style assessment (based on Daniel Goleman and Hey-McBer’s leadership styles theory) ahead of the classroom day.
This pre-work allowed graduates to identify their personal default leadership style and understand its strengths and weaknesses. As a result, the classroom session was transformed into a hands-on workshop, focusing on practical skills such as listening, communication, and adapting leadership styles to real-world management scenarios.
